Mazal Tov!

This weekend Cyril's brother Don was married. The wedding took place at the Hill's Resort in Priest Lake, Idaho. We drove part of the way on Thursday and stayed overnight in Fernie. The hotel we stayed at had a pool with a waterslide and we enjoyed swimming for a couple of hours before bed. Cyril's oldest brother Tran came with us so the kids enjoyed spending lots of time with him in the van and in the pool. We all had fun swimming except for Holton who tried waterwings for the first time and was terrified. He is usually okay in the water but he had the death grip on me the whole time I was holding him. He loved the hot tub though and did calm down once we were in there.

The next morning we were up early, had breakfast and hit the road again. After a pit stop at the Walmart and Payless in Sandpoint we arrived at our destination. The cabin we stayed in was beautiful and big. It had 6 bedrooms with king beds each looking over the lake, 8 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, and a huge living room area with 2 murphy beds. We stayed there with Tran, Cyril's parents and all their Philippino friends. It was really fun!

The afternoon was spend setting up, making food for the rehearsal dinner, relaxing and exploring. Holton and the girls loved being able to run around, play in the sand, swing at the playground and walk out on the dock. The rehearsal went really well and then everyone who had already arrived was invited for dinner and a get-to-know-you. Unfortunately the mosqitos were out in full force so most everyone went to various cabins nearby to visit. We had a really fun time though and were able to put the kids to bed upstairs and still hang out with everyone. I was also able to finish the final bit of sewing on the flowergirl dresses.

The next morning we took our time getting ready because the ceremony was not until 3pm. We had a big Philippino breakfast and then let the kids play for the whole morning. We put Holton down for a nap and then took Mateya and Jaidyn over to the main lodge for lunch. It was nice to have some quiet time together before the busy afternoon. When we got back I did the girls hair, ironed clothes, got myself ready and then it was time for the wedding to start. The girls looked absolutely beautiful in their flowergirl dresses and I was really happy with how they turned out.

The wedding ceremony was really nice. The weather was perfect and the view was amazing. Abbi looked beautiful and Don was all smiles. Cyril was one of the four Chuppa holders (a Jewish custom) so I had Holton. He did quite well but I had to take him to the back a few times. After the ceremony they had a receiving line and a champagne reception. We mingled around for a while and then had pictures taken. All of this took place right outside of our cabin. It was great to have everything so close by. I was able to put Holton down for another nap before heading over to the main lodge for the reception. The dinner was really yummy and we had a fun time. Don sang to Abbi and they did the money dance. It was such a long day for the girls that Jaidyn ended up falling asleep on my lap so she missed out on all the dancing. Mateya and Holton were really tired as well so at 10 pm (11 our time) we took them back to the cabin for bed. Cyril and I were disappointed because we missed out on so much of the night and didn't even get to dance one time together, but that's what happens when you have kids. In the morning it was raining so we just had breakfast and got packed up. The girls played hide and seek and Cyril found some cool places for them to hide. We said goodbye to everyone and then drove the long 7 hours home.
We are so happy for you Don and Abbi. Best of luck to both of you on your new adventure as husband and wife. Congratulations!!

Two New Nephews!!

In the last month two baby boys have been born in our family. Kim had her baby last month. We weren't able to go visit so we had to wait until they came up last weekend to see him. Baby Evan is so cute and small and he loves to be cuddled.

We had a fun time while Kim and family were here. We played in the backyard, went swimming and had everyone over at our house for breakfast ('everyone' means 13 adults and 13 kids!!). Me, mom and my sisters were even able to go to a Stake RS meeting Friday night while the dads stayed home with the kids. It was nice to be able to get the whole family together even though it can be quite chaotic. Luckily it was nice enough for the kids to play outside.

Thanks to the Hardy's for bringing baby Evan to us so we could see him!

All the Moxley cousins with Great Grandma Selman. On Wednesday baby Peyton was born. Jay called me just after 6 am and asked if I could watch Mckenna because they were heading to the hospital. I of course said 'Yes!'. I had Mckenna for the whole day and took her up to the hospital after supper to see her new baby brother. She was very excited about the baby but mostly to see her mom and dad. Peyton is so cute and a big boy! I was so happy to be able to see him at the hospital and take some pictures. After our visit I took Mckenna back home with me to have a sleepover and then Jay picked her up in the morning to take her back to see mommy and baby.
We are so happy for Sherilyn, Jay and Mckenna to welcome a baby boy to their family! Congrats to both the Hardy's and the Leishman's on their new bundles of BLUE!

Dancing Queens!

Mateya and Jaidyn participated in their first dance competition on Thursday. They are both in the same two numbers, ballet and jazz. They did such a great job and we are so proud of them. They scored between 92 and 100 (out of 100) on both dances which gave them a High Gold medal. They were so excited to get their medals and to show them off to everyone!
Excellent job Mateya and Jaidyn! We are so proud of both of you!!

Dinosaurs!!

Cyril's Aunt from the Philippines is here visiting for a few months so we decided to take her out to Drumheller to see the Royal Tyrrell Museum. After the 2 hour drive we had lunch and then spent the afternoon going through the museum. The girls had a fun time looking for the answers in the activity books we got them and Holton though it was fun to run around. He really liked the dinosaurs but his favorite part was the fish in a pond and a turtle swimming around in a tank. I guess he likes looking at 'live' things better (just like his mom). Tita Esther (Cyril's Aunt) really enjoyed herself and was happy to finally see something other than Calgary. It was a great day!

Field Trip!

On Friday, Jaidyn's Kindergarten class went on a Field Trip to the Calgary Tower. I volunteered so I could go too. It has been many years since I have been up there. The glass floor they put in a few years ago was definitely the highlight. Most of the kids had no fear and walked and laid down on it but there were only a few of the parent volunteers brave enough to step on it. I was one of the brave ones but I couldn't really look down. I knew I was completely safe but felt so scared. What a strange feeling!
Looking out over the city was cool...it has grown so much. The kids all had a fun day even though it started to snow so it limited the visibility. I was happy to spend the day with Jaidyn and her class. We had a great time! Thanks Sherilyn for babysitting Holton!

Jaidyn and I on the bus. What a beautiful view! Jaidyn with no fear at all! Looking straight down from the glass floor! Some of the kids writing in their booklets.

Snow Day!

Yesterday we woke up to a Winter Wonderland. There was so much wet snow on the ground which caused chaos for the morning commuters. I got Mateya to the bus on time but she told me after school that it took them 2 hours to get to school. About 10 minutes after Cyril left for work he called me and said traffic was at a stand still and that he was coming home. It still took him 20 mins just to get back. He took the whole day off and so we played in the snow and made a snowman. It wasn't very cold outside but there was tons of wet sticky snow. By 11 am the sun was out and things were melting fast. At about 4 pm dark clouds rolled in and it started to snow again. It was heavy and thick but luckily it only lasted about an hour. It's amazing how the weather can change so quickly. It's even going to be shorts weather by the weekend! CRAZY!!

Bike Ride!

Yesterday we went for a bike ride with some friends. I was babysitting Mckenna so she came too. We went on a pathway along the ridge of Fish Creek Park. Lisa and I had a wagon and stroller for the three little ones but the older girls rode their bikes. Halfway we stopped at a lookout point to have a snack. The kids all had a fun time. We went over to their house after to have lunch and stayed all afternoon to play. It was a great day! (My camera battery died so these are all the pictures I have.)

Ballerina Bear!

Last night while Cyril was at cubs, Mateya and Jaidyn were being silly and were trying on Holton's clothes. Amazingly enough, his clothes actually fit them...sort of. They found Jaidyn's old ballet slippers and decided to put them on Holton. He ended up with a whole outfit. All three of them looked so funny and it was hilarious watching Holton dancing around with the girls. He didn't even want to take his ballet slippers off. The joys of having two older sisters!!!

This is how Holton just started to smile when you take his picture!

Grandma's 90th Birthday!

My Grandma turned 90 on February 22. She is so amazing. She hardly looks her age and still lives at home and drives her car around the small town. She is still full of energy and just went on her first cruise in November with her daughters and one son in law. We are so proud of her and love her so much. Happy Birthday Grandma!

These are some pictures from the party and family dinner. Jaidyn was born the same day as grandma so it was special for Jaidyn. She thought it was neat when we sang Happy Birthday to her and grandma! We had lots of fun visiting with everyone. Holton and I went to the mall with Kristina and Stephanie earlier in the day. We also visited Justin and Heather's new house that is being built.
