Camping in April!

This past weekend we went on our first camping trip with our new trailer. We went to Mount Kidd in the Kananaskis with some friends Rob and Theresa and their 2 boys Jaiden and Lucas. They also had some friends camping there at another site (Ray, Lisa, Brandon, Makayla and Kaitlyn).

We all had a great time despite the weather which didn't coopertate very well. It rained all night on our first night but cleared up in the morning. The kids spent the day riding bikes and playing together. They all had so much fun and really enjoyed being outside even though it was quite chilly. I think one of the highlights for them was the walk to the candy store and arcade.

We spent alot of our time by the fire and roasted many marshmellows. We also had some friends drive out from Calgary to visit for a few hours. It was nice to visit with Mike and Tanya and their baby Brandon.

On Sunday morning we woke up to quite a surprise. It snowed a couple of inches overnight! We really didn't expect it because when we went to bed around midnight it seemed warmer and the sky was clear. We should have known better because it's only April and we were in the mountains! Anyway, the girls really enjoyed our trip and love our trailer and so do I. No more freezing in the middle of the night on a trip to a stinky outhouse! We can't wait until our next trip possibly in May.

Holton is 10 Months old!

On Monday Holton turned 10 months old!

He is such a wonderful baby who loves to smile, laugh and growl at everyone. It is so fun to see how much he learns and grows each day. In the last couple of months he has learned to clap his hands, point at things, give a high five (daddy taught him that) and wave bye-bye. He is still not crawling but can get around on his tummy, using his arms and legs to push forward, I think it's called a combat crawl. It is fun to watch him because the girls never did this. His new favorite thing is to hold my hands so he can walk around. He loves to explore our house and see all the things he can't get to on his belly.

Since we have had some warm weather we have gone to the park several times. Holton loves the park but not because of the swings and slides, it is the rocks! He loves to sit and throw rocks and when I'm not looking, eat them. (once again I don't think the girls really did this). I love having a boy and feel truly blessed to have such an amazing little guy in our family.

Here a some pictures of Holton over the past few months. Enjoy!

Easter Fun!

We had a wonderful Easter in Raymond with our family. The kids all had a blast decorating Easter eggs and then rolling them. They also enjoyed an egg hunt at Grandma's house. We also had a nice visit at the cemetary to see Grandpa's grave. It is always fun to go to Raymond and spend time with family. Happy Easter to everyone!

A Day at Chuck E Cheese's

We stumbled across the brand new Chuck E Cheese's last month and decided to take the kids there as treat for all the trailer shopping they had to endure. We all had so much fun. Holton was amazed with all the lights and sounds and enjoyed the rides he went on. Here are a few pictures.

Standing Up.

Holton is now standing up around furniture. He loves this new perspective on life and sometimes gets frustrated when he can't be standing. He is still not crawling but can move around on his belly quite well (mostly backwards). It's so fun to see him grow and move around but I know it won't be too long before he is getting into everything!

School Choir Festival

A few weeks ago Mateya was able to sing with her school in a Elementary School Choir Festival which took place at Southcentre. There were 18 schools throughout the city that participated which included the grades 1-4 from Mateya's school. Ten of the schools were then invited back to sing again on Saturday in the finals and to be recorded on a CD. Mateya was very excited when she found out her school got to go. Since it was on a Saturday Daddy, Grandma Moxley, Sherilyn and Mckenna and Uncle Tran came to watch her as well as Mommy, Jaidyn and Holton who also saw her on the Tues. It was really neat to see Mateya singing on the centre stage at the mall. She said she had fun and wasn't even nervous! Congratulations to our future star!!

Fun in the Snow!

In February it was really cold and we got a ton of snow. Now that the weather is warmer we have been able to get out and enjoy the winter wonderland. We have played in our backyard, had snowball fights, skated on our rink in the backyard, and gone toboganning a few times with the family.

Babysitting Mckenna.

We babysat Mckenna on Wed while Sherilyn and Jay went to the Hockey Game. The girls were so happy to play with her and couldn't get enough of her. Holton and Mckenna had fun playing together too. The night went by so smoothly until I decided (bad idea!) to move Mckenna from the swing to the bed while she was asleep. She woke up crying which woke up Holton. Cyril came to my rescue who got Holton calmed down so I could get a bottle for Mckenna. Once Mckenna was back to sleep I was able to feed Holton. I can feel for all those parents with twins!! Don't worry Sherilyn I will babysit again for you anytime!
Here are a few pictures of Holton and Mckenna saying goodnight to the girls.

Pictures of Jaidyn!

Happy Birthday to our little princess who is now five! She has had a busy year with preschool, gymnastics, and a dance combo class where she is learning ballet, tap and jazz, and of course all the other things a preschooler does to keep us busy. Jaidyn is a wonderful, loving girl with lots of energy and a great smile, who is big help to her mom and dad. She loves to play with her big sister and help take care of her baby brother. Jaidyn loves to talk and at times it is almost impossible to get her to stop but we love hearing all the stories about her little life. We love Jaidyn so much and enjoy all the funny little things she says and does to keep us all laughing. Here are a few pictures of her throughout the past year. Enjoy!

Jaidyn turns Five!

Jaidyn celebrated her fifth birthday on February 22. We had a family party at our house on the weekend before. All of the family was able to be there except for Jason and Charmaine, Tran, Don and Abbi and my dad. Rachelle, Matt and Tobias also came but Tyler was out of town so he couldn't be there. We also celebrated Aaren's 5th birthday because Jaidyn and him were born only 11 days apart. It was fun to see the excitement on both of their faces as we sang 'Happy Birthday'. I hope they enjoyed celebrating their birthdays together!

Happy Birthday also to Grandma Selman who shares the same birthday as Jaidyn! We love you Grandma!!

Jaidyn also had a party with her friends at the Kinder Room at the Southland Leisure Centre. There were 12 girls altogether, 2 babies (Holton and Mckenna) as well as about 10 adults. The kids all had so much fun running, climbing and playing together. It was a great party and Jaidyn was so happy to finally have a real birthday party. She is already starting to plan her next birthday not quite understanding how long a year is! Thanks to Sherilyn, Jay, Mom and my friend Lisa who came and helped out! It was great to have Lolo, Lola and Uncle Tran there too!
